Clydesdale PPI Claim - Double Glazing

I thought I would share my current claim with Clydesdale. If anyone has any comments or advise they would be welcome.
I went through my old paperwork and discovered that when I bought some double glazing back in 2000 I financed it with Clydesdale Bank - and yep, paid £874.50 in PPI.
Great, I thought. I have a letter from them confirming my application being approved, and the original paperwork. All the evidence was there, and given the fact that I was pressurised by the double glazing sales person to take the PPI - and it wouldn't have been relevant in my circumstances, it was clearly mis-sold.
I have details of payments made, policy number etc.
However, you can guess the rest....
Clydesdale say they have no record of this agreement. Ironic isn't it - they don't but I do.
I used resolver to make the claim (very good route) - and have now escalated this to the financial ombudsman. We will see....
Is there anything else I should be doing? Anyone know of someone being successful in this type of claim?

I guessed wrong.
I thought they would reply saying that they didnt sell it to you and that you should complain to the company that did sell it to you. That is the usual outcome.and have now escalated this to the financial ombudsman. We will see....
Maybe that is when you will get the expected outcome. A rejection as you complained to the wrong firm.Anyone know of someone being successful in this type of claim?
No. As Clydesdale didnt sell it to you, they have no liability for the sale. That lies with the seller. i.e. the Double Glazing company.
However, they would not be regulated until January 2005. So, they dont have to consider pre-regulation complaints. So, its game over.
There are two outcomes here.
1) FOS ask Clydesdale to look again. Clydesdale respond saying they cant find anything and FOS reject your complaint for that reason.
2 ) Clydesdale find the information, see that you bought it via a third party and not direct with them and reject your complaint as they didnt sell it to you. FOS cannot intervene as its pre-regulation and doesnt involve a sale made by the bank.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Hmm, I guessed wrong as well.

Thanks for the update. At least I won't waste any more time on it.0

I think it might be Clydesdale Finance who are linked to Barclays, not Clydesdale Bank.
As above you complain to the double glazing firm who will probably reject it for being sold before regulations of 2005. Then you can take it to the underwriter of the PPI policy and mention single, upfront premium in your complaint.0
