Mortgage Relief/JSA

Now that there is a new system being implemented for Mortgage Relief, I am wondering if I was actually paid wrongly under the “old” system. I was on Income Support/JSA, the DWP paid an amount to my mortgage provider BUT they deducted it from my benefit payment before I received any money. Does anyone know if they have made a mistake and should not have deducted anything from me. ?

They've not deducted anything from your personal allowance. They add on the housing costs and then deduct them and pay them to the lender. That's correct, but the letter they send is very poorly phrased.0
