Current accounts causing hard searches on CR

Over the last few months, I've opened current accounts with a few different banks. In each case I did not request an overdraft when applying. Despite this, I have credit application searches (also known as hard searches) appearing on my Clearscore report. There are searches from Natwest, HSBC and First Direct from the dates that I applied for the accounts. I only have current accounts with each of these. Never asked for or been offered an overdraft by them. Is it normal for current account applications to result in hard searches being recorded on Clearscore?

This is normal.
Although you did not request an overdraft, a current account gives the option of going into an unauthorised overdraft, so they search for this reason.0 -
The application process should also tell you that a search is about to be carried out and seek your consent for it."In the future, everyone will be rich for 15 minutes"0

Perfectly normal as others have said.
Do you have any concerns about this? If so, what are they? Perhaps we can allay them.0
