Lubuntu - Highly Recommended

Fantastic little Linux distribution that I've been using for years. Quite basic but customisable. I have it dual-booted with Windows 8 and the difference in performance is immense.

Does anyone use it here?

I used to use it on a very old low spec machine a few years ago.
It worked while Gnome, KDE, Cinnamon wouldn't. Even XFCE struggled
    Fairly basic interface though.

However I eventually replace it with CrunchBang Linux (also Debian based) running the Openbox desktop, and it flew. :D

I'm not wild about Ubuntu or its derivatives. I currently dual-boot Arch Linux on my main PC, and have just Arch on my laptops.

The thing I like about Arch is that it tries to keep system management simple and minimalist... So it runs really fast on old hardware. I tried using Windows XP on my Asus EEE 901 netbook, but it was so slow as to be unusable. Arch runs much faster.
