Is there any freeware that will remove DRM encryption on a large (1.7Gb) MP4 file - to allow viewing ?

HDCP? Are we talking about the copy protection built into the HDMI standard? If so, both the playback device, and the screen need to support HDCP. This looks like a hardware problem. For the moment DO NOT download anything that promises to fix it.
So - what is the playback device, what is the screen, and via what cables are they connected?0
