Gleam puzzle?

Misslayed

I often get this message when I'm trying to enter a Gleam comp, but I've no idea what it means. It's not because I've already entered. I try to use fb or twitter but just come back to the same message. Any clues?

Is that message on an iPad?

I was getting a pop up with that loads last night, I would be interested to know how to get rid of it

I have had the same problem since IOS 11 came out - are you on IOS 11?
Gleam comps don't work for me for a few weeks, then they start working for a few days and then stop working again


Every time an update comes out I hope it will sort it but not yet!!

Hey Misslayed,

I have just checked and Gleam has started working for me.
Have a look if it is ok for you and if so get entering all the gleam competitions you can whilst it is working

I have still been having this problem. Gleam comps won’t work most of the time and then randomly they work for a day or two.

I have now worked out what fixes it - all be it temporary

You need to open a gleam Comp that opens directly into the gleam Comp Page like this one

It seams to “lock in” your log in details, you can the open up all other gleam competitions and you should now be logged in and be able to enter

If you have this problem try this temp work around

The next problem will be to work out if you can convert a gleam Comp that’s embedded on a page into a “Direct” gleam Comp like the attached link???

I’ve been doing this, as a work-around, for months and it works fine for me too.

Although, I have seen Gleam mention that if you turn off “prevent cross site tracking” in your iPad/iPhone settings then this supposedly fixes it without needing the work-around. Haven’t tried it yet myself, as haven’t done any gleams since I read it.

Your tip about deselecting “Prevent cross site tracking” worked

The switch for this is in the safari section of Settings in the block of buttons titled Privacy & Security

All Gleam comps now work when you turn off this setting. It’s easy to do and after entering any gleam comps you can turn it back on again
