Veritas Alarm

I'm hoping to get some advice on my Veritas alarm that I have been asked to disable in order to replace a front door. I have had it 12yrs with no problems and would hate to create any. So far I have taken off the control panel and naively thought that would contain an on/off switch...

It's a while since I've done any work on my Veritas R8 system (which has separate "control panel" and "keypad"), but I think the steps were:
1) Type in the engineer's code and press the PROG button on the keypad.
2) The system is then in the programming menu.
3) If you need to disconnect wires or open any sensor casings, switch off the mains power to the control panel (mine is in the loft). There's a fused power switch next to my control panel which I can use to isolate it.

I have an Installation Manual and the engineer's code for mine, without those it might be difficult to switch your system off completely.

Is it possible to replace the front door without disconnecting wires or opening any sensor casings? If so, you could just leave the alarm in the unset state.
