Baxi Solo boiler - no lights

Hi
I have a Baxi Solo 3 PF30 with no power...
T minus 5 days: No lights on front of boiler despite call for heat. I powered off and on and it kicked into life. Ok for a day.
T minus 4 days: It died again. Pressure a bit low so topped up. Ok for 3 days.
T minus 1 day: It died again. Powered off and on and this time got to the fan light but fan not spinning. Took the front off and tried a drop of oil but there was a fair bit of resistance when trying to spin by hand so....
Today: Replaced the fan. Boiler sprang into life, lasted about 8 hours but now no lights again. Pressure ok. Power cycle has brought it back to life... for now.
What would cause no lights (not even 'boiler on' despite a call for heat?
Thanks, Kris

Does it have a permanent live to it? Not all solos had a permanent live, just a switch live that powered the boiler via the zone/ mid pos valve.0

yes it has a permanent live0

As long as its getting permanent 240v and you have no green on led it could only really be the PCB, I would think0

i've also noticed it will tend to cycle alot. it heats for about five minutes, turns off for a minute, repeat ad infinitum. all the time the controller is calling for heat. i always assumed it was normal but now im second guessing0

If you can use a multi meter, the manufacturer instructions will tell you the resistance you should expect off the sensor but id be surprised if its not a PCB issue as a sensor issue would not cause the power led to be off.0

the on/off cycle is actually one minute, on/off/on/off and repeat.
i've noticed if i unclip the thermostat it will stop cycling and stay on (i only let it go for three minutes, seeing as its a safety feature and all...)0
