Demotion / Redundancy

Hello,
I have just been offered a demotion following a restructure, I work full time as a manager and my wage is est £30,000. They are demoting me to a administrator at £18500 for part-time hours, the job is not that similar but I more than capable of doing it. This will cause financial hardship (and be demoralizing for me in-front of my peers of whom I've managed for over 10 years). If I don't take the demotion, do I loose all hope of redundancy?
Thank you in advance.

If you take the demotion you lose all chance of redundancy....

At the minute I'd say that the offer is not SAE due to the cut in pay.
