!!!8217s have been messing up any posts that contain apostrophes. Any idea why this is occurring? Is it a MSE problem, or, in my case, just an IOS (iPad) issue?
Are others using Microsoft OS having the same issue?

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I did read on another thread that it was a fruit based issue, but clearly not all devices as my posts from an iPhone are fine.
So a combination of MSE and particular devices, I think. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

It happens for me when I copy/paste from a doc that has the 'curly' apostrophes as opposed to the 'straight' ones. A search/replace in a basic text editor before copy/paste here sorts it.
I'm sure it's only recently started happening though! I use MacOS.0 -
I think I might have solved it (for me, at least).
It’s been simply a case of going to the ‘Settings’ page on the iPad, selecting ‘General’, > ‘Keyboard’, > ‘Text Replacement’, then instructing the system to replace ‘ with a ‘.
Yep, replace the same symbol with exactly the same symbol, but it works ...... for me ...... at the moment! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I use an Android device with Chrome and while I don't get it when I type a post I did get it in some text I copied and pasted from a web page, so it seems like a MSE problem to solve.0

I'm wondering if that work around has fixed it for me?
It looks like it has.0
