Unclaimed Disney shares - lost?

Options
Hi,

I was given a Disney share as a child, set to reinvest any dividends into purchasing more shares. I used to get the occasional update on it, however, many years and many house moves later, I've long stopped receiving anything.

I still have the share documents themselves, but not any accompanying documentation.
Being entirely ignorant on how any of this works (I can claim I've had shares since birth, but never 'done' shares), if I wanted to sell them, how do I go about that and who do I contact? And with no contact from me in a couple of decades, will they assume I'm dead and have handed it over to the state? If so, what now?

Thanks in advance for any help!

  • Ok, I think I've somewhat found the answer to my own question by getting the contact details of the Disney investment company.
Should have been better at Googling first time around before posting! :)
