Been told I paid CRP but too late to claim?!

Hello all,
Some advice..I’ve applied (and been successful) for my PPI on an egg card I had about 8 years ago. I got back £123...which is better than a kick in the teeth.
In the letter Canada Square have sent, they’ve said this
‘After carrying out a review of your account I can confirm that on 4th April 2013 a letter was sent confirming that you held CRP and that I may have been mid-sold the policy. As you have raised your complaint more than 3 years after this letter was sent, and more than 6 years after the sale of said CRP policy, you complaint is barred under rule 2.8.2 of the FCA’s Dispute Resolution rules’ which means therefore they are not upholding this element of my complaint.
Is this right?? Should I persue it further?
Thank you!
