Personal Injury Trust - needed for pensioner?

My mother is 83 and is about to receive a lump sum from a personal injury claim which could be up to £30k. She has no other savings or investments.
Will this affect any of her benefits?
She receives:
If any of this is affected will she need a Personal Injury Trust?

- Pension Credit
- Council Tax Credit

The worst case she loses £40 weekly from her pension credit (PC) or the £40 extra cancels out her entitlement to PC in full.
The best case she has an assessed income period (AIP) from pension credit and it makes no difference until this AIP ends.0 -
Thanks for the reply. I decided to call the DWP who told me that Mum's Pension AND Pension Credit would both be unaffected.
Obviously they can't respond regarding the Council Tax Credit but your reply suggests that's not impacted anyway.
Reasons to be optimistic!!0
