Setting a completion date

Is it possible to draw mortgage funds with 2-3 days? My solicitor has said we can complete on Friday if we exchange today (Wednesday). However I am worried incase we do not receive the funds on Friday from the lender and get charged for exceeding the completion date. I have sent an email to my solicitor outlining our permission is subject to setting a completion date when 100% of funds will be in. She is currently awaiting confirmation from Halifax and she hasn't formally put to me a completion date. What can I do to ensure I avoid any costs?
Both the seller and I are chain free and the seller does not occupy this property, however seller wants to complete by Friday.

You can't do anything. It's your solicitor's job to request the funds in time for completion.
FWIW if they need to, Halifax completions (along with many lenders) can turn around a Certificate Of Title and release funds in a couple of hours.I am a mortgage broker. Your solicitor does this sort of thing week in and week out - why don't you trust their advice?0

Okay so we should be okay for Friday then. I will send an email to my solicitor saying we are fine subject to receiving confirmation from Halifax that funds will be released in time, just incase!0
