Can someone tell me if it is beneficial for me to go for the legal cover with car insurance companies? We have 3 cars in the household and I'm getting a bit annoyed with having to pay £17 on each car.
Surely the home INS policy’s Legal cover would also cover anything to do with the car right?
Comments appreciated. Apologies if its been answered before.
Many thanks,
Mark

No, the legal cover for the home normally only covers you for certain things (normally household, employment or dispute related). The car legal cover normally gives you cover for reclaiming losses due to car accidents. Car legal cover doesn't cover you for much else - if in a fit of road rage someone got out his car and kicked a big dent in yours, your car legal cover wouldn't help.
Many insurance companies use Helphire, and you can go to them direct for £10 per accident (you pay £17 per car per year - have less 5 accidents in your household and you've saved).
I'm sure there are other companies who will charge less - many advertise of the TV under various names. Car legal cover is pretty much a waste of money as unless they think they have a good chance of winning, even your £17 a year people will say 'no thanks' (check your small print!)

Hi mark101
I think you home expenses legal cover would only cover the home.
£17.00 is too expensive, especially if you have more than one car - as you do, although I was quoted £30 at one point! It's well worth having as it covers lots of things. I paid £4.99 for mine from Best Advice UK. Their tel no. is 0800 085 1898.
