Car insurance repair. Buckled alloy

We was hit on the back of a motorway and there is a buckle on one of the NSF wheel. The insurance company who are repairing say this isn’t to do with the accident. Is a buckle on a NSF alloy buckle possible with a rear collision?

Highly unlikely I'd say unless you were shunted over a kerb or something.

    What actually happened?

Middle lane. Car in front of us suddenly stopped with no break lights. We breaked in time. And the car behind us hit us and and pushed us into car in front. Car in front didnt claim. We did and car behind us accepted liability

We hit the car ahead very lightly because our automatic breaking system came into action. So there was a minor scratch and the badge(Mercedes) came off

That's not going to buckle a front wheel. More than likely you've done it on a pothole at some point. As above, how did you find out it was buckled?
