Refund of care home fees

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has any experience of this?
My late relative died in a care home in October 2017. All fees were paid one month in advance. The room was cleared within 2 days of relative's death and the room subsequently re-let to a new resident.
After the death manager stated that we would receive a refund but to date nothing has been received. Are we being impatient thinking that the refund should have been sent to us by now?
I have also checked with late relative's bank in case the care home had refunded into relative's account but no, nothing received in there.
Thanks.

Can you call them and ask them about it0

It might be an oversight, or lack of communication between admin and accounts departments.
There should be a pro-rata refund in this case. It would be remiss to be charged a full month's occupancy.0 -
Some care home providers are probably more organised than others. Took my mother's care home a couple of months to refund because of holidays but over three months seems a long time. As suggested, a phone call or even an e-mail, so it's in writing, would be best idea.0

When my mother entered a care home we had to sign a contract with 4 weeks notice. She died 4 days into the 28, I was just grateful they didn't charge us for those 4 days. Are you sure that there wasn't a similar contract?0
