ive just booked a month out in california, we plan to maybe do a week or so around disney and then visit arizona and maybe northern cali
as we will away a month we dont want to waste $$ on hotel rooms, yet still expect something very clean and useable , no need for gold taps and plasmas
so , can anyone suggest what the cheaper end of hotels would be..while not being so cheap that thyere nasty?
any good sites for booking u.s hotels? i notice all the u.k ones try and charge per person:T

We like comfort inns as they give you breakfast or you could see what there is on the Skyauction and bid for one

I always look on tripadvisor first to get an idea of price and quality.
Have used best westerns and independants in the west USA and never had a problem with any, all booked direct with the motels/hotels0 -
Holiday Inn Express Anaheim Maingate is meant to be ok, this is v.near Disneyland and is about £40 per room

thanks for the suggestions so far
will have a car , so it doesnt have to be too local to disney, just that area..buena park would be good but i cant find a good review for anywhere except the $$$ places
weve stayed at a red roof before...was ok nothing special0 -
ooh another question
would it be rude to turn up and ask the price and request to see a room before i pay?0 -
I never book my motels when in USA, there is no need to, just turn up at the many that are available and price is always for the room and not per person.
Cheapest I had on my last trip, albeit to the east coast, $48 and the dearest was $100, which gave me a bit of luxury towards the end of my trip.
Dont worry about asking the price, you should also pick up a book of coupons first chance you get, some good discounts to be had.0
