Yup, I think it pretty much shoots down the idea that Amex is 'too expensive' to take. If Aldi can take it, but Havianas can't...

    Even Poundland accept Amex.

The offer was still active when I loaded it just now onto my BA Amex card.

I don't have the Aldi offer on my British Airways Credit Card, but I have it on my Platinum Cashback Everyday Credit Card, which I barely use and keep only because it has good offers regularly. I would quite like to know what is the Amex algorithm to select those offers…

it still is a premium card, just look at the cashback deals and other perks amex gets. They cant offer these without their hefty fees.

it just means aldi is slowly going to become a bit more expensive. They'll just absorb the cost and spread it out to all the customers

It's nice to know that my 40p loaf of bread will become 42p, so that those better than me can use their Amex to buy the Aldi lobster.

    :)

So glad to be helping those who are struggling to pay cash for their food.

There is no evidence for this.

I'd be astonished if Aldi haven't negotiated a very competitive deal with Amex. It would also be interesting to do a comparison between such a deal and their cash handling costs.

Register her for their online servicing - they provide a cut down version to additional cardholders.

thanks Heng, will try that by logging into my a/c.
EDITed..just tried that, but obviously doing something wrong.
Logged into my a/c, then add online servicing, put wife!!!s card details, then my user Id and PW, it says card is already registered?
Do I use my id and PW at second stage, or, create onother for wife?

Create an Amex on line account for your wife.

That's what I do with my partner's card, which I got just to double up on cashback offers.
