Red Route PCN, stopped for less than 30 seconds

Hey guys

Last Tuesday, I was dropping off a friend and I stopped in one of those red route parking bays at 6pm for around 30 seconds, I didn't get off the car, and I drove off as soon as I my friend got off, the rules on the parking sign were as follows. Do you think there's a way to appeal this ticket?

No Stopping, Mon-Sat, 7am-7pm
Except 7am-4pm, 30 mins, no return within one hour

Council or private ticket? Most probably council but some private companies have started getting creative with a can of red paint.
  • Looks like council with those sort of restrictions. The whole point of red routes is that they are more restrictive than regular yellow lines, and the exemptions allowed for yellow lines, e.g. dropping off, are not normally allowed.

If this is the case, then get yourself over to Pepipoo's Council Parking Tickets & Clamping and Decriminalised Notices forum, where they have a lot more expertise on council tickets.

Pretty self explanatory, Pepipoo will advise on technicalities but you are probably stuffed.

What about the second restriction? "Except 7am to 4pm" Makes no sense.

    It was issued by TFL.

That's what I find confusing! It was clearly a marked parking spot, not a double red or single red line, and parking there would not restrict the traffic at all!

I could only pass an opinion on that, and not anything factual. You'll need to go to Pepipoo as advised in order to get an informed answer. You'll need to post the (redacted of personal details) notice there, and preferably a Google Street View link to the exact location.
