PPI and bankruptcy

Just wanted to say I was forced into bankruptcy through the separation of my ex-husband in 2012. I have had numerous calls, and even progressed with one firm sending me the forms to be completed to claim back PPI. I decided to check with the Receiver and they said it was illegal to claim for anything earlier than 2012. Perhaps this can be highlighted as I know there is definitely one PPI I paid, and completely repaid the monies used for a course, with no debt to that PPI. I did say at the time of bankruptcy there could be PPI which could be claimed to take off the outstanding debts.

    It is highlighted.
It's asked so often that it's a "sticky" thread on the bankruptcy board.

By the way, it's the date of your personal bankruptcy (not simply the year 2012) that determines a pre-bankruptcy asset.

Basically, bankrupts cannot make PPI complaints, any redress belongs to the Official Receiver for redistribution to your former creditors. Only if you (somehow) managed to have PPI after being bankrupt could you complain.
