Inheritance under Intestacy

Hi all,
Following the chain of succession when there is no will, I've determined that if the deceased had any brothers or sisters, then the estate is shared equally between those brothers or sisters.

However, if a brother or sister has already died (i.e. predeceased the deceased) then their children (nieces and nephews of the deceased) inherit in their place.
That's clear enough but does anyone know what the situation is if one (ore more) of those nieces and nephews also predeceased the deceased, but their widow/widower is still alive?
Is the widow/widower legally entitled to anything?

Many thanks for reading and any advice and info gratefully received.

AFAIK only blood relatives can inherit under intestacy but I am happy to be proved wrong.

If they died without having any children then their share will go to their siblings.

No, a widow or widower would not have any entitlement. (however, if the niece or nephew died after the deceased whose estate you are dealing with, but before the funds are distributed, then the situation would be different)

Thanks Yorkshireman99, the sister was full-blood sibling so her children
(nieces and nephews of the deceased) inherit in their mother's place.
My question is based around the fact that one of the nieces had passed away before the aunt.
