MSE News: Airlines to be investigated over...

I'm not complaining. What did you interpret as a complaint? I said they're changing the game. That's what it is - a game. The business try to make as much as possible from the customer, the customer tries to get the product as cheap as possible.
If you don't understand that, then MSE isn't the right place for you. It's the whole point of MSE. In order to "win" the game, you need to understand what the game is, and what can help you win. Which is what I was pointing out above.
I did not say you personally were complaining,i was on about the public generally and as much as i like saving money i am a realist, you cannot have something for nothing. As for "Playing the game " how many posts on this forum have we seen with people complaining that they are badly done too because airlines will not let them take an oversize suitcase on as hand luggage or sit where they want to,far to many.0 -
Yeah, and you also get people complaining that others got something for free that they had to pay for. I'm sure it'll annoy some people that I've got 5 seats together both ways on Easyjet for free when they were mug enough to pay to sit together. But I know how they operate, and I know that checking in as soon as possible I was almost certain to get seats together.I did not say you personally were complaining,i was on about the public generally and as much as i like saving money i am a realist, you cannot have something for nothing. As for "Playing the game " how many posts on this forum have we seen with people complaining that they are badly done too because airlines will not let them take an oversize suitcase on as hand luggage or sit where they want to,far to many.
Or people who don't read the T&Cs of what they're paying for and think selecting their "preferred seat" means it's guaranteed and then complain when they're moved.
And people complaining about other people complaining. Some people just love to complain.0 -
I have tried to find the answer to this on the forum and in the news section but so far i've had no luck. I was wondering if anyone here could help:
1. With Ryanair is it possible to 'risk it' with randomly allocated seats and then buy seats if you've been unlucky?
2. If this is possible is it usually a bad idea anyway since the cheaper seats might've sold out by then?
Thanks for your help.

You can change your randomly allocated seats for a price, this might work out cheaper as you might only need to move one seat to be next to the other. But they might account for that in their pricing, when I looked into what it'd cost to move one seat it was quite expensive IIRC.I have tried to find the answer to this on the forum and in the news section but so far i've had no luck. Or try swapping with someone on the plane, or try the seat swap website mentioned above.0 -
Just tried to reserve some Ryanair flights and discovered that the seat allocation system does not work - half the plane is missing.
Presumably that will enable them to charge extra when they discover the other half of the plane.0 -
Just looked at that seat swap website. I’m sure that it won’t work. You input your randomly selected seats and 2 hours before the flight you get an email with your new seats.
So by then you will probably be at the airport and will need new boarding passes if you have paper ones. With the cost of internet stations it would have been cheaper to select seats in the first place!!!128521;The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
Of course you don't need new boarding passes. Do you think you need new boarding passes if you've got the window seat and your wife has the middle, but she wants to sit at the window seat instead!Just looked at that seat swap website. I!!!8217;m sure that it won!!!8217;t work. You input your randomly selected seats and 2 hours before the flight you get an email with your new seats.

You use the ones you've got, but sit in the seat the email gives you. Most airports have free wifi, you only need to receive an email.
Whether the site works or not I don't know, never used it, but it's a great idea. Hopefully someone will try it and report back. I'll definitely try it on my next Ryanair flight.0
