Icesave - Locked Account
[Deleted User]
After not logging into my Icesave account for a couple of months I decided to go and check how much interest I've accumulated.
Entered my User ID and what I thought my password was, only the password was wrong and the account was locked. Had to phone Icesave to get it unlocked. The customer service agent give me 4 letters of a temp password to use to login and he said the rest of the password will be emailed to me at 9.15am tomorrow morning.
Why do they have to wait till tomorrow at 9.15 to send the rest of the password?

It must be reassuring for you to know the password isn't being sent by snail-mail at 9:15 tomorrow.0

Four given to you on the phone today, and the rest by e-mail to your legitimate e-mail address just after their office people have started the day shift, sounds like a fairly reasonably secure way of getting you up and running again.
And, don't forget, this is part of the security in your best interests on your account.
Perhaps you ought to check it more frequently? It seems someone could compromise it and you wouldn't learn this has been done to you for, as you say, "a couple of months'.0 -

IceSave did the same thing to me the other week.
When they explained the 2nd half of the password would not arrive until the next morning, they explained they have a script which automatically runs 4/5 times a day generating the necessary emails and if you have missed the last one for the day - the first batch each morning is at 9:15!
Even though, IceSave said I had to wait until the next morning - it still came that afternoon though - at around 4:15..

I was thinking more along the lines of arriving before the end of the month.Deleted_User wrote: »Yes. Saving paper, saving the planet and all that jizz.0
