Egg Card PPI Confirmed - now what

I had an Egg Credit card when I was at university, and I suspected it might have had PPI even though I don't remember applying for it.
I've had a letter this week from Canada Square confirming that it did indeed have PPI.
So what are my next steps? I started filling in their online PPI complaint form, but for most of the answers I was selecting Don't know or Not sure.
Do I need to have details of my application, which I think was done online, and statements from them before I make a complaint, or would it be ok to fill in what I remember and go with that?
I don't want to end up giving incorrect information and have my claim rejected.

You are not expected to remember much as time goes on. The complaints handlers are more wary of people claiming perfect recollection and it can actually be more damaging if people do state things that actually turn out to be wrong.
Most complaints do not succeed or fail on points that require you to remember something. They succeed/fail on the basis of facts (eligibility for example) or bad audit trails at the firm or auto-payouts.Do I need to have details of my application, which I think was done online, and statements from them before I make a complaint, or would it be ok to fill in what I remember and go with that?
You need nothing. Fill in with dont remembers etc where required. Do note that online applications are more likely to fail on a complaint as no individual sold it to you. For example, they don't have to check suitability. So, any complaint relying on suitability as a reason will fail that particular point. With an online app, you are largely reliant on a flawed application process by the firm or not being eligible.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Thanks for the advice. I'll fill it in with what I can remember.0

My claim with Egg was the same, I filled in the initial application for the card online, I had absolutely no knowledge of ever having PPI as it didn't appear on my monthly statements. When I started a claim for ppi I filled in the online questionnaire honestly and most of the answers were don't know, can't remember etc.
Incidentally when applying for the card online there was a pre-ticked box at the end of the application which if 'un-ticked' stopped the application process so I assume that there was no choice in whether you wanted it or not, it was forced on the applicant. I got a little in excess of £10k refunded!.0 -

Wow! That's a lot. Do you mind if I ask how you ended up with so much back?
I got a letter from them today confirming they've accepted my complaint, and they also found an additional card, which I think might have been a joint account.0 -

I got a letter today, advising that they're going to refund me £258. Thanks for the advice.0
