HSBC transferring accounts to HSBC UK

HSBC are transferring UK accounts to HSBC UK on 1 July 2018. They are saying that there will be no implications for customers, but I'm not sure. Grateful for any advice. Thanks.

Its just ring fencing - essentially instead of your account being held by hsbc it wil be held by a newly formed hsbc UK - it wont make any real difference to cusotmers

I have been into HSBC branches in the US (Miami), Australia Singapore and Malaysia - and they helped me as I had an HSBC account (problem with my cards) or could print out statements etc on their cash machines. I presume this will still continue and we remain part of the worldwide family?

Yes, your account will continue to operate as normal and remain part of the HSBC Group. The main, perhaps only, impact that most HSBC customers will notice is that the retail bank here will will be renamed 'HSBC UK'.

    Other changes:

If in the ring-fenced bank (HSBC UK) your IBAN changes.

Your sort code _may_ change. I have an HSBC US Dollar Account - sort code has changed (to 40-11-99).
