  • Is the house near a church? If it's listed and close to a church it might be worth asking if there is a chancel repair liability. It's a very old statue whereby some owners of homes with this liability can be called on to contribute to repairs of the parish church. If it does fall into that category, buyers usually take out an insurance policy to counteract the liability, if that makes sense.

Thanks Honeysuckle - I will look into the book. I am not aware of it being near a church but will ask.

DH got called out last night just as I was falling asleep and then came back and disturbed me again. Feel exhausted - I am sure he feels worse. He's mostly got rid of on call so it was as shock to the system. I think the person that had taken his on-call share must be on holiday.

My challenge is to get through to the 15th payday while spending as little as possible. However my fuel is running low as DH used it to see MIL on Sunday and we had to go and get DD. Both trips together wiped around 100 miles off my tank. I only do 80 miles for work a week - I work one day from home - so you can see that's a big impact from the other mileage. I think I need to at least half fill up.

I have a large leg of lamb in the freezer, I may defrost that the weekend and try and convince OH and DD to also eat it - they're not keen. Then perhaps divide it into portions after cooking and freeze some - and use the rest for my meals at work next week.

I still need to submit some ppi claims on behalf of DH. I also want to challenge Bank of I on whether my B&W mortgage had ppi on it in the early 90s - I believe it did - so although they have already said no - thinking of disputing as they mentioned a PO CC and nothing else. I also still need to do my child benefit form to retain it in September

Ran out of coffee so DD bought me some from the corner shop £5.80!!! not helping with the lower grocery fund cause. This month I didn't use envelopes and have really regretted it - so when I get to press reset on the 15th planning to go to envelopes for as much as possible. May even cancel STO to DD as she keeps asking for £ early - but too close to payment date so I can't cancel - at the same time I am trying to teach her to manage money.... :o The irony isn't lost on me.

Feeling a bit down today but trying to shake it off. We have had some rubbish things happen in RL but trying to focus on the good while acknowledging the bad. After today only in work 10.5 days before have some more time booked off and around then the GCSE results come out and DS is due home. Really hoping DD is accepted on the course she wants....

I really need to progress my writing goals too and get a cover designed for my book. I look at other people's lists in their diaries and they actually seem to do theirs :rotfl: mine seem to be stuck currently - I've listed what needs doing but the magic elves didn't show up and do it for me... As a case in point, DH is supposed to be doing tonight's meal plan food but is eating out with a friend instead - what am I going to eat?

Work computer currently booting up. Will try and do an hour to an hour and half.

I have put a beef roasting joint in an enamel lidded tin in the oven - should be ready in a couple of hours or so. Also in the process of cooking macaroni milk. Think DD bought herself a meal deal so she is sorted.

  • Hope the RL things ease off for you :)

Corner shop buys are always a rip off I get so annoyed when they become the last resort!

Have you written an entire book? That's amazing!

I feel your pain re the corner shop. I do think part of this money saving game is about staying organised. Today I did not organise a packed lunch so I was at the mercy of Pr3t prices. Annoying!

I hope your mood lifts soon :)

Thanks - I hope they ease off too as parts of this year have been absolute hell.

Corner shop rip off are annoying - however I do have a card now for C00p so get cashback on some of their items - not this one though.

I have written an entire young adult book. Am 12,000 words into a second and about 2,000 words into a non-fiction book. I would love this to be my main income source however don't think I meet JK's HP standards yet. I also think I would be bored if I was just doing one thing and have a low boredom threshold - keeps me productive though.

Thanks DIA. I was amused the other day as I posted on someone else's diary on the importance of taking lunch with you to work and promptly forgot my own. :o I have done 1hr 45 of work so feel a bit more caught up. Still have loads to do though - but should get a morning of relative peace to do it tomorrow before meeting my boss (who is ace - put that in there in case she ever finds this diary :rotfl:)

Will try and make myself take doggy for a walk soon. She seems super clingy and a little shaky tonight - hoping nothing's wrong. She's only 1.DH would normally come with me but his ankle is really hurting him currently so he is a bit reluctant.

May try and break through writer's block and do a bit of writing on book 3.
