PPI Payment but no offer letter

I'm a bit confused so hope someone here can help.

I did my PPI claim direct with the bank. The claim I assume was successful as they made the payment into my account earlier this week, but I haven't received any letter from them. Any idea how long the letter normally takes. I'd like to use the money to clear some debts but don't want to risk it being a mistake and them taking the money back.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

What have they said re timings when you asked?

If that deadline has passed, call them again.

I got a letter dated 19th January saying they would reach a decision within 8 weeks, which is why i was surprised to get the money so soon.

Is it worth giving them a call or just wait another 8 weeks for the letter?

Thanks all, just given them a call. I should have received it over a week ago, so they are going to send out another one.
