BTW, Housing Associations will only house once the council has nominated, so although it is an excellent idea to be sure that you are on the HA lists, there is little point in contacting them directly.Torgwen..........

This is not true in my area, you can go on some Housing Association lists separately as well so it is always worth approaching them.
Which makes mummytofour's assertion that the OP should not be obliged to provide further information a nonsense. If we know where the OP is we can advise in more depth, as the information re HA's is correct in my area.0 -
I'd be very suprised if there is actually anything you can do to "get the ball rolling" any faster than you currently have.
You've been assessed and found that your local council has a duty of care towards you (though you don't actually say which council it is) which means that they will rehouse you. Based on that you'll be in the "emergency group" or equivalent HOWEVER within that group there is still a queue and, whilst I sympathise with your position, you and I don't know about the situations of the people who are ahead of you on the list.
Depending on the council, you would hope that there is some form of emergency family accommodation that you should have access to whilst waiting to be full rehoused, it might well be looking into/asking about that.
I have every sympathy for your situation and I hope that you can get it sorted sooner rather than later.0 -
Hi have2save,
There is lot of good advice on here, and I really would recommend contacting your local MP (mine is seemingly pro-active) and also you MUST go to your Drs (both of you) and get letters confirming the depression, anxiety and stress that you are suffering - although the council will want their own Medical forms completed too - but get the letters anyway and take them straight to your Homeless Officer. Also, perhaps your Midwife will do a letter for you particularly if she has seen the accomodation you are living in now - if she hasn't ask her round!
Have sent you a PM too.
Good luck with the council and with the baby xxChristians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -
Thankfully I have never been in this position .
I wish th OP all the best and would just like to agree with others that lettres from medical professionals could well help, also a visit to Shelter.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0
