Rotting window-fixable?

We have a rotten timber window frame outside-is this easy to fix ourselves? Or should we look into getting it replaced?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I’m not sure what you could do to fix a frame that is rotten, so I would get it replaced. Is it the frame that’s rotten, or just part of it like the windowsill or the frame of an opening?0

Depends how bad and how deep the rot has set in.
You can scrape out the rot then brush a wood harder on it, fill and paint it properly. But if it's literally all falling apart then it probably can't be saved. This stuff does exactly what it says on the tin.

This is the window if it helps?0

The rot in the photo easily goes back further than the back of the glass and probably all the way through the window. In my opinion you could repair it but the repair won't last more than a couple of years before you see signs of more rot. Repairing windows should be seen as a temporary measure. Even correct splice repairs carried out by someone who knows what they are doing will still rot where the new timber joins the existing timber..0

I can only see the bottom picture so it's impossible to tell from that how bad it is.
Strip off all the paint, it needs doing anyway and get a scraper in and see what falls away. The wood hardener works, if it's not all rotten it can be brushed on, left to harden, filled and sanded then a good primer and a couple of coats of weather proof paint will do for another 10 years.0 -
Thanks. We're not looking for a permanent fix-just something for a short while before we get round to redoing that side of the house!0

That looks like pretty deep rot - looks like it goes right thrgh the wood. Is it just that bottom left side of the window frame, or is the rest of the frame as bad?
If it's rotten like that all round - new window frame (or replacement pvc?).
If jst that corner, it's beyond filling with wood hardener and filler by the look. Probably needs a joiner/carpenter to cut out and replace a section of wood.0
