That aside, do I understand you haven't been back to John Lewis with the issue but bypassed them and gone to Apple? Your "consumer rights" lie with JL and not Apple. I'm reading your post on a phone and the block of text is difficult to navigate.

Yes, when it started to happen I went to Apple support and explained what was happening and have been dealing with them for 3 months. I suppose I posted this mainly because I'm now at the point where I want to approach John Lewis and explain the situation and that after 3 months there's been no resolution and the problem still exists. That's where I wasn't sure what my rights were and wanted to check before I approached JL. Thanks.

Sorry, can you elaborate on what you mean by bluetooth dongle? At the moment my imac doesn't support any bluetooth devices, it drops all bluetooth connections constantly.

It drops with its built in bluetooth. Have you investigated using a USB bluetooth dongle to add another bluetooth connection? Or buy a standard wireless keyboard. many solutions/options.

OK, I wasn't aware of the USB bluetooth dongle option. Still, after paying a lot of money for a brand new imac 6 months ago I shouldn't really need to be buying dongles, keyboards and mice. They are options but not solutions to fix the fact bluetooth on my imac doesn't work anymore.

Neither is it JL's fault you updated it after getting it to something completely out of their control.

It is hard to see why they should be responsible in this case.

Revert to the previous OS as people have suggested.

Well I suggest you research it first,Im sure someone will have tried a dongle already. You are the one saying its a major issue for your work.
I had to update my PCs bluetooth hardware as it wouldnt work with the new Surface mouse.
The reality is its a hiccup and doesnt render your Mac unusable given its vital for work.
