Temporary life insurance - needed?

I have a death in service benefit, but will be changing jobs. The new employer will also be providing a life insurance policy. But there will be a gap in employment of about 3 days or so. I suppose this means that in those few days I will not be employed, and therefore will not be covered by either policy.
Do I therefore need to get some sort of cover for those few days? Does anyone know of anywhere I could get such cover?

Does the new employer only provide life insurance as long as you work for them??
Why not take things into your own hands and have your own life insurance which is not dependent on your job.
Have you also considered income protection for when you are medically not able to work??
Insurance is often cheaper when your younger and have no issues"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"
