The governments money? Where do they get it from? People who work and pay their taxes?0 -
Wish I hadn’t wasted my time doing calculations for this OP!0

Is she planning on giving it you then?love taking the governments money !!!
Your post is pointless. If her aim, supported by her caring ex who wants to advise her what her best interests are, is to maximise her benefits, then yes, she is probably better off working the minimum hours required.
Of course, as a caring ex, you could point out to her that by only doing minimum hours, she is reducing her chances of getting a better job in years to come and that it will be a much bigger struggle in 4 years time when she will be expected to find a FT job and that relying so much on benefits is a dangerous choice when these get cut years after years because the government can't afford that level any longer, especially with so many people opting to work minimal hours when they could work more.0 -
very simple solution to that.
1. she now takes full advantage of the benefit system ( fully entitled to do so )
2. in years to come if they slash her benefits then she will work more hours ie full time but that will be years and years away ;-)0 -

The OP has been educating himself?:)
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/73825841#Comment_73825841since i will start work soon in london with good pay i plan on getting mortgage in the next 2 years.
so, if i put deposit of say 100k down on a £160.000 mortgage would any company borrow me the extra £60.000 over say 10 years.love taking the governments money !!!
With the income implied the OP's tax will be paying for the benefits.....:)0 -

What? The paraplegic close to me deemed fit to work who has struggled in the last 6 months to get help and endured so much confusion. Who's had 2 months if that in benefit help and experienced the DWP incompetence on so many levels, I wouldn't bank on the gov's help.
Or Totally true that the help never goes to the correct group.0 -
