Parking ticket - should I take it further?

Hi
Had a Council penalty ticket for being parked in a resident bay during 1 and 5pm on a Sunday! Basically I was going by the wrong plate which was on the opposite side of the road and had a different restriction for some reason - council playing silly !!!!!!s!
I appealed in the first instance on this basis but also because of the following which I thought would stand some stead:
As I walked up the road and around the square, I noticed a parking warden on patrol - asked him were the roads restricted and he said only some. I pointed over to the road I was parked in and he said as far as he was aware, that road was free on a Sunday. So with this I did not return to my car.
Do I have a hope in hells chance of winning if I appeal again and take to ombudsman if needs be. I don't even think my first appeal has been read as the response was so generic!
Thanks

Yes. Almost all Council PCNs are winnable. It's a myth that they are not. Ask pepipoo.Do I have a hope in hells chance of winningPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
