Looks like you answered your own question.I have been back and they say it is the same lens from the same supplier0 -
Have you been back to get them adjusted? It may be that the last pair were better adjusted to your face and the new pair require some more adjusting.0

been back had them checked and adjusted just the same, they say they are the same lens ie boots gold but is boots gold the same standard has I got 4 years ago I wonder. The bottom line is my eyes hurt if I wear them for too long.0

did you have a new eye teat? i would assume so due to the age of your glasses/prescription0

But I agree - after four years you shouldn't just be ordering a repeat prescription without a new eye test. And if your prescription has changed, there would be no come back on these lenses against Boots, as they have supplied what you specified in your order. Although it might be worthwhile getting another optician perhaps to verify the prescription in your new lenses a) matches what you ordered and b) pupil distance is correct.0 -
Surely Boots aren't allowed to dispense glasses, or even replace lenses, against a prescription of that age?0
-
they are not, thats why i assumed a new eye test (not teat lol) had been done0
-
"Allowed"? Why should boots be worried if you want to use an old pesciption? Daft, yes but not illegal.0

It is legal for an Optometrist or Dispensing optican to supply a prescription of any age.
I do it very rarely but useful for housebound patients etc.
Sometimes you advise another sight test and the px is adamant they don't want one so you supply with suitable caveats on the notes after all people have a right to decline testing if they want!0
