Was watching Monty Don last night and thought the mud head could be enchanting in the right place but not sure how to make one.
Any ideas ?

Earlier in the programme there were some snippets regarding construction, in this case:
1) Pile up some plastic storage boxes and old planters to get the rough shape
2) Cover in cob (cobb ?) to sculpt the final shape. Cob is straw, water and (I think) clay - on the programme they said subsoil, which was very red, so I think it was clay. They mixed this in a large vessel (like an old bin)
3) Prepare the face covering by mixing yoghurt and moss in a kitchen blender (I ask fellow Moneysavers to corroborate that I'm not making this up)
4) Paint the moss/yoghurt mixture onto the face
5) Get some sedge grass - seven small pots ? - and plant in the head for the 'hair'. The sedge will eventually spread
Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?0 -
Thankyou so much, I must have had my eyes closed or made tea because I don't remember those bits at all.
Not sure the moss / yoghurt thing in a blender sounds great for the blender tbh but hey ho I'm up for the challenge.
Many thanks0 -
Funnily enough I bought the cheapest possible blender from Currys a few years ago to deal with situations like this - blitzing dry leaves to add to potting compost etc
