Solicitors fees, child custody

Hi guys
I have approached a solicitor to represent me, to get an agreement on custody of our 2 children. Their fees are £150+VAT for initial letter to set up a face to face agreement. If my ex agrees to that, my solicitor will charge a unit rate which works out at £230/hr, or a fixed cost of £750+VAT per meeting, with no time limit.
Anyone know if this is reasonable?
Cheers

£230 an hour is not overly expensive, but rates do vary between areas and size of practice. You should get a few quotes from solicitors in your area as a point of comparison.0

Depends on where you are and how experienced and qualified your solicitor is.0

Sounds expensive to me, OH paid half that in his access battle for a fantastic solicitor but we are in a very poor part of the country.0
