Privacy screening for gate and fencing

We have inherited a metal fence which backs onto some student halls of residence, the university kindly put up some bamboo screening but you can still see through slightly and we would like to make it a bit more private on the fence and our gate too which looks out onto a main road.
Also just got a dog who barks at everything
Everything we have seen, still has tiny gaps in or is really difficult to attach or cut to size
Does anyone have any suggestions please, we are not DIY experts so it will need to be relatively easy :rotfl:

If the Uni have put up bamboo screening on their side and you put something decent on your side then I wonder if the two screens combined are a lot more opaque?
Bamboo-style screening should be very easy to fix against a metal fence.
Hope this helps0 -
Hi thanks for your reply
To be honest, the bamboo looks a bit weather beaten so I'm reluctant to put more on, plus the dog has had a go at it already0 -
Ive got the skinny stick-like screen at the bottom of my garden (against a shiplap fence) and its starting to look really tatty as well. Looked amazing when first installed but had faded dreadfully.
I'm thinking of replacing mine this year with rattan-weave style screening that kind of matches the garden furniture as that still looks OK several years on.

That does look good. How does it attach do you know pls?0

If the fence it quite sturdy then I think you can use cable-ties, or twisted wire at regular intervals.0
