Good evening all.........don't want to start a new thread for this query, I have received a letter from debt recovery company and I am keen on sending them a stern letter however I cant find a e-mail address to send it to so it looks like I will be posting one which im not to keen on, how would you recommend sending it? recorded? The company is dcbl
Thanks in advance.....0 -
How 'stern' can you go? What are you hoping to achieve?I am keen on sending them a stern letter
Presume you mean 'Signed For'? Again for what purpose? Think about it, what if they refuse to accept it - many of these outfits refuse 'Signed For' mail - where does that leave you? Many have a PO box/mail drop address - no one can sign for anything there.how would you recommend sending it? recorded?
Have you read the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #4 about dealing with debt collectors. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Hey Umkomaas, thanks for reply. I have read NEWBIES FAQ and recommendation is to send letter and there are suggested templates. Am I taking the wrong route? Where possible I would like to respond to letters that have been sent but if advice is not to then I'm happy to follow this but would appreciate some guidance and reasoning.0

Alfa123, did you read post #4 of the NEWBIES thread?
The guidance there seems to me to be pretty conclusive - ignore debt collector's letters.
The first line of that post is: 'IGNORE THE DEBT COLLECTORS' STAGE0 -
Thanks KeithP, ah ok I see, I made the mistake of clicking and reading one of the links in #4 which recommends sending a letter and also suggests templates. I will ignore as advised......0

Good evening all, its been a while and honestly thought that I had beaten them but they haven't forgotten!! Received a letter from NTC today stating that they have handed it over to their "approved legal service provider" BW Legal who are based in Leeds. I coincidently received a letter from BW Legal too...….their statement is briefly below.....
"As you have failed to make a payment or raise an appeal within 28 days from the date of the PCN, the balance due remains outstanding and we require payment in full within 16 days from the date of this letter. If you fail to make payment or provide reasons for non-payment within the specified timeframe, we will seek our clients instructions to commence legal proceedings against you in the County Court upon being served with a letter of claim pursuant to the pre-action protocol for debt claims as contained within the civil procedure rules."
Im assuming that I continue to do nothing until I receive something from the courts? They refer to CCJ's, this is yet another scare tactic?0 -
Debt beggar letter if as described by you - follow advice in the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #4. It may develop into a claim, but nothing you can do now, other than pay their silly inflated current claim, will stop them from doing whatever they decide to do.
Sit tight, come back on this thread if you get a LBC or MCOL Claim (see NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #5 for acronyms). Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Having recently received an extremely similar letter including your quoted section and excessive use of explanation of the County Court Proceedings , including 6 lots of "either the full or acronym, "CCJ" in capital letters standing out in the 6 line paragraph.
I'll create a new post just to check I'm on the right track but commented here as mine is also a long while ago, and had thought 'forgotten'. I didn't reply to the initial NTK as have had a lot of 'stuff' going on that lead to me forgetting within the time frame after printing off the sample text so having missed the deadline I left well alone and now over 6 months later I get a BW Legal letter as above and find a missed call message on my mobile phone also?? where did that come from ?? anyway I'll do my own, but very interested as it seems they've batch filed a load of letters out from a range of times, (months apart) on the same day.:mad:0
