Medical Negligence ‘how to’

I’m not sure the best place to post this, what section it would come under...
Can anyone recommend solicitors who I could go through to claim? I’ve never done it before so not sure what I’m doing!
Previous claim stories welcomed too!
Just a quick overview... over a year go I had a cosmetic, non surgical procedure done which went wrong.
Thank you in advance.

Going wrong does not always mean negligence. You would have to show evidence of that.0

Hi, sorry I didn’t want to post the full story on here! It is definitely negligence. I have evidence and medical professional who says it is negligence. This post is more how do I claim for medical negligence as I’ve never done it before. Recommendations of solicitors etc.0

1. Have you got any legal cover on your home/contents insurance?
2. Are you a member of a trade union that offers legal cover as part of their membership?
3. Otherwise it looks like a no win no fee solicitor if you can't afford the likely legal costs.
There was a post a few months ago on the employment board (I think) about an injury at work. One of the contributors claimed to work for a NWNF firm and actually seemed quite knowledgeable in these matters...
EDIT: just looked for that post but can't find it. It was a bloke who had his thumb severed in an industrial accident looking for advice how to claim.
You may be better on health and beauty board...)0 -

Medical negligence is a minefield - because another medical professional having a different view/who would have done things different doesn't automatically make them negligent. The test would be whether they acted in a way that was not considered reasonable or proper by the profession as a whole.
Also you havent said if you are paying for your legal representation or looking for a conditional fee agreement. With the latter be careful as the terms will likely make you liable for legal costs if you decide not to proceed with the claim or if you reject a decent offer. On top of that, you will be prohibited from reclaiming those costs from the other party, they will be deducted from whatever damages you are awarded if you win (up to a max of 25% - which limits the effort the company will want to put into it and they'll be looking for a quick settlement unless you have a genuine claim for a significant amount of damages). You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
Irwin Mitchell and Leigh Day do loads of medical negligence work.
They're firms, not people by the way.0
