Whilst some wood laminates are sold for use in bathrooms or wet areas, they may not last. My first thought is to go for luxury vinyl tiles. A couple of suggestions for you -

Thanks I should have said the fitting cost is also an implication, and the flat is probably just shy of 100 sq.m.!

Have been pondering on the click plastic effect flooring to avoid the added cost of the laying traditional wood/vinyl?

No you shouldn't put wood flooring down in a bathroom. It will warp within a year, if not sooner.

I got some really nice, real wood effecy vinyl a month or two back. It looks just like the real thing. Just put a threshold bar into the bathroom and you're sorted.

You can buy click-together vinyl too. Not sure of its suitability for bathrooms, but one would hope it would be.

  • Just laid luxury click vinyl in my bathroom. Very easy to fit (score and snap the boards even around corners and curves, then click it together. Finished off with a bead of silicone around the edge). Very easy. Loads of suppliers online that will send you free samples. I ended up getting mine from b and q as it was decent value with tradepoint discount.
