Just had an email from these to say they're a new survey site, and will be paying 50p a survey. Anyone come across them before?
This is their site. http://www.opinium.co.uk/
I wasn't sure on the best way to check how legit they are - any opinions?

All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I think its from a research company caled lansons. (WWW.lansons.com) or may be some of their employees have branched out. Reason being, I have done surveys for them for about 18 months now, and they were only rewarded with entry into a prize draw, but last week I got an email from the same people saying they were going to be introducing opinium and would I like to join up for that too.So its very new-at least as a paid survey company. Hope that helps.0

Thank you. I love doing surveys. But never seem to find the ones that pay cash.0

Looks OK - does anyone know if they make payments into Paypal, or is it just a cheque?:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
Any posts are my opinion and only that. Please read at your own risk.0 -
Hello
Just to say that I work at Opinium and, yes, we’re a new, full-service, online research agency that has recently launched. We’re currently at the stage of building our panel of members so it’s great to see people joining up and, yes, we will pay for your views!
At Opinium we believe in delivering quality, accuracy, service and we also want the experience of completing our surveys to be a pleasant one for our panel of respondents. All our employees are members of the Market Research Society (MRS).
At this stage payments are just by cheque, but we’re looking into PayPal and hope this will be available in the future. We send out cheques when you reach £25.
Please feel free to check out our website at www.opinium.co.uk
Hope this helps!

The website t&cs says payment is made when your account reaches £20
4.6 When an Opinium Panel Member’s account reaches or exceeds the threshold amount (currently £20), Opinium research will contact them by email at their registered address. The Panellist will be given a choice of payment methods (which will include a cheque, sent to their registered address, by post) or to decide to leave the money in their account.0 -
Thanks klb
I’ve just checked the Policies on the website and the sign up survey – they both say £25. I’m guessing this must be right…

Hope this is ok

The t&cs that you sign up to I Agree/I Disagree definitely says £20 in at least 2 places.
4.3 Opinium Panel incentives will only be paid to Opinium Panel Members when they have accrued sufficient total credit to reach or exceed the published threshold amount. This amount is currently £20 but may vary.

The Panellist will be given a choice of payment methods (which will include a cheque, sent to their registered address, by post) or to decide to leave the money in their account.
Obviously you have more than one set of t&cs and are using the set that people haven't signed up to. What other differences are there?
I look forward to your comments.0 -
Dear KLB,
Many thanks for pointing that out. This is a genuine error on our part – no attempt to rip anyone off.
Our draft Terms and Conditions mentioned £20, but (when we did the financial projections) this was increased to the final figure of £25. Somehow, the draft figures ended up on this one section of the website - the correct figures are used elsewhere.
We’ve asked for a correction to be made as a matter of urgency.
We will, of course, honour the lower payment threshold for everyone who’s signed up to the Opinium Panel on this erroneous version of the T&C. However, we very much hope that all our panellists will stay with us, going on answering surveys and accruing panel incentives, after their first payment.
We are most grateful to you for pointing out our mistake.
If anyone does have any questions, please feel free to contact us on info@opinium.co.uk
Many thanks
