Hi, My other half was searching on an ancestory site and found his grandad on the register. It states his name, address, date of death and then it says administration 'not exceeding £70,000' He lived in a council house, so we know there was no property involved. Please help us understand what this means! Is there unclaimed…

If the entry on the probate website says "administration" then there was no will ( unless the entry also says "with will annexed") - but someone applied to administer the estate.

The rules of intestacy would have been used to determine who got what.
