Closed Egg Credit Card

I had quite a long running Egg Credit Card, which I eventually paid off around April 2011 - my outgoing payment states this was made to Egg.
If the account was closed shortly shortly after and Barclays dont appear to have taken it over, is there any comeback on reclaiming PPI?
Speaking with Barclays, they dont appear to have any Egg statements available for my account.

I had the same. I filled in the checker form on citibank, and got a letter back with my account number, and confirming it had PPI. I don't have any paperwork, so I'm now just reading up on my nest steps.
