Are these ok in hand luggage?

The rules say it needs to be less than 6cm blade, be it a knife or scissors.

Personally, I wouldn't risk it. I always try to remember to pack mine in checked luggage but occasionally have unintentionally had one in my carry-on. Some airports are fine but I've had one confiscated. I suppose how much of a jobsworth you get at the security check.0 -
I thought I'd lost mine in Thailand last year. I found it a few days later in Vietnam at the bottom of my day bag, which had gone with me by air as a cabin bag, so it had gone through airport x-ray without being detected.0

When I went through my camera bag before my last trip I found a big multi-tool at the bottom of the front pocket. I can only assume that it's been going backwards and forwards through airport security for several years without comment.
I've removed it now. No point in tempting fate.0 -

That's how I had my Swiss Army knife confiscated. It had hidden itself in the inside lining of my day bag and I just assumed that I had left it in a hotel. I had passed through several airports in SE Asia without it being detected but it was found immediately the next time I flew out of Heathrow.
The lesson is that the quality of equipment, levels of training and strictness of rules aren't the same throughout the world.0 -

Personally I would not chance it - do you need access to it during a flight ?0 -
