Flat owner selling 999year lease but not "SoF"

    Yes that's my understanding. When you apply for lease extension, the lease is extended by 90 years and the ground rent falls to £1.

    I would never accept it. It's a recipe for disaster.
    If you buy a leasehold it must come with it's fair share ownership of the freehold or walk away

    i think it seems pretty much everyone agrees 99% to not consider this...same as me.

    but does anyone have any idea why this person would want to do this? poster above put forward some valid points but i think they dont apply in this scenario (with only reasonable one was to try get a few extra K mid way but it seems theyre keen to keep - weird!)

    for what its worth EA hasnt gotten back to me today but i did notice another EA started to market the property recently - at the new lower price & with worse pictures!

    Just put in your offer, in writing, stating it is for the lease and SOF.

    Stop over-thinking and 2nd-guessing the seller.

    He'll either agreee, refuse, or negotiate tthe price.
