Axis Bank

 I am absolutely furious! Having spent ages grappling with a not particularly clever website whilst trying to open a joint savings account with Axis, I finally get a message that tells me that they can't open an account online. Helpfully (not) I am told I could print out forms and bring documents to their London Branch to open an account. As I live in the far south west this is total nonsense. What's more I have surrendered a whole bunch of highly sensitive personal details. Frankly, I'm deeply suspicious about the whole outfit and would tell others that in my opinion they should not even try, no matter how attractive the interest rates seem to be. Grrrrrr.

Attempting to bank w3ith an overseas bank with a single UK branch is likely to lead to these problems. Perhaps online opening of accounts is uncommon in their home market (India)0

Axis Bank ........... I would suggest you may have had a lucky escape."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Axis Bank - as both my wife and I had maturing fixed rate bonds on 29th January 2018, I am still unclear as to where these funds now are, as they did not follow my instructions on maturity.3 telephone conversations since then have promised a call return within 3 working days - which has not happened on these 3 occasions. - I am being to fear the banking ombudsman may be the next step - but this can take ages to resolve. My advice would be avoid Axis Bank - although was featuring in MSE previously0

I also looked at this "bank" and decided against (along with a few of the other new ones) because I couldn't open it online but, fortunately I did not go as far as the OP, just read the Key Information - thank goodness I did. I also decided against some others for same reason and one because you have to use a banking app. Shame they were (reasonably) good rates.0

I also have a bond which recently matured with Axis Bank.I decided to reinvest with them, for a further term, and instructed them accordingly by e-mail 2 weeks ago.I have heard nothing from them.I have phoned them 3 times and was told someone would call me back within 3 working days, no-one does.
I don't know where my money is now.
I certainly wouldn't recommend this bank.I think they need investigating.0
