Does setting up direct debits help?

I have credit cards and catalogue accounts that I'm currently trying to pay off.
I pay these manually each month on payday and change the amount I pay depending on if I can pay more that month. I also don't like the dates of the direct debits as they are all throughout the month so I like to get everything paid as soon as I'm paid.
Does it make a difference to my credit history if I pay manually each month rather than have the direct debit set up?
Thanks

As long as you make the payments on time, you can choose any method you want.
Having said that, there's at least one sub prime lender who factors DD into their risk modelling. But for most, it's not a major issue.0
