Can my Bank (Building Society) arbitrarily cancel one of my Direct debits without notification ?
I have rec'd a letter from British Gas stating that Nationwide have informed them that they have cancelled my Direct Debit without stating a reason.

They have the ability to do so, yes. Justification, that's a different kettle of fish. Ask your bank what happened and see if they can reinstate it.: )0

When was it last taken - some go dormant if not taken for 13 months.0
