Paypal....commission free

Did you know that anyone that sends you a Paypal e-cheque for your item, you dont get charged any commission? I didnt....until this week.
Works same way as a regular Paypal payment, except you have to wait a week or so while it clears, and then you get an email to say it has cleared.
Wish all my buyers paid that way.....I think its a specific type of Paypal account.

How do you tell people that you accept e-cheques rather than using paypal??Official DFW Nerd 210

I think you'll find the Paypal fee gets charged when the eCheque clears. I've had a few eCheques recently and the normal fee is there.
eCheques in my view are worse than anything (apart from non-payers!) - you have to wait 10 days for it to clear and you get charged a fee for using PPal (usually worth the fee for the instant-ness of payment, but not in this case).0 -
Paypal are the biggest con-artists out there. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. See paypalsucks(dot)com"Success is not to be measured by the position someone has reached in life, but the obstacles he has overcome while trying to succeed." Booker T. Washington

I have to admit to NOT liking Paypal one bit - Sure its convenient and all, but I'm being forced into building up the paypal fees/charges into the postage & packing cost on small items, and I try not to overhcarge p&p at all. Sometims though paypal can mean the difference between profit & loss on some items, especially that 20p they charge. I'd sooner they stuck with an even %% instead!
As an aside, I have cheque as my #1 choice, and WILL send items out on receipt of a cheque, not when it clears, from ebayers with damn good feedback! I make this clear and buyers appreciate my promptness, and more often than not, appreciate me trusting their cheques to clear. I then appreciate not paying 4% odd of my auction total to the fat cats of ebay/paypal.
My #2 option is always direct bank TR, but will wait for that to clear as I have nothing in paper to prove, unlike a cheque.
Paypal is my (quote) grudgingly accepted final payment method (end quote) but usually I'd say around 80% of my payments received, are using paypal....Money saving:

Yes I love that site, so full of misinformation and people who didn't read paypal terms and conditions and think they should be compensated. It is absolutely important that before signing up to anything you read the terms and conditions.
I particularly like the bit where they seem to think that paypal has the monopoly on phishing mails, I assume they have never seen the bank ones that started it.
Paypal fees are a pain but they are necessary, it is impossible to sell successfully, especially overseas, without it. Now that fastpay has bit the dust any real competition is slowly dying off.

If you maintain a basic paypal account then e-cheques and transfers of cash from another members account are free. Paul1Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0
